Katharina Makara

Age 88, late of Schererville, Indiana and formerly of Hegewisch, passed away 12th day of May 2016. Beloved wife of the late John Makara. Loving mother of Kathryn Keene-Blankenstein (Robert), and the late John A. Makara. Proud grandmother of Adam (Abigail) Keene, Ryan Keene, Nathan (Jennifer) Keene, and step-grandmother of Christine (Heath) Raley. Loving great-grandmother of Aiden Keene and step-great-grandmother of Harrison Raley. Caring sister of the late Martin (Eva) Jungert and the late Elizabeth (John) Filipp. Kind aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents: Andrew and Katharina Jungert.

Katharina was a former member of the Hegewisch Golden Agers and the St. Florian Young at Heart Society. Katharina resided in Hegewisch for over 50 years before moving to assisted living at The Residences of Deer Creek in Schererville.
