Jennie Stevens, a beloved member of the Hegewisch community, has passed away peacefully on November 19, 2023. She was born on March 11, 1926. Throughout her life, Jennie had a profound impact on those around her and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Jennie lived a life full of love and devotion to her family. She was a loving wife to the late Daniel H. Stevens, and together they created a beautiful life filled with joy and cherished memories. Their enduring love served as an inspiration to all who witnessed it.
As a mother, Jennie was nurturing and caring. Her children, Barbara McBride and James (Janet) Stevens, were the center of her universe. She always put their needs before her own and provided them with unwavering support and guidance. Her children found solace in her warm embrace and sought comfort in her wise words.
Being a grandmother brought immense joy to Jennie's life. Kim McBride, Tom McBride, Brian Stevens, Lisa Mazzella, and Nick Stevens were blessed to have Jennie as their grandmother. They cherished their time with her and will forever carry the memories of her love in their hearts. Additionally, Jennie was blessed with numerous great-grandchildren: Josey, Madison, Jilly, Joseph Jack, Lucy, Daniel, Connor, and Adrienne. Her legacy lives on through these precious souls who brought light to her life.
Jennie had many passions in life but held a special place in her heart for the Rosary Ladies Sodality. As an active member of this organization, she found solace in prayer and fellowship. Jennie's participation in the Sodality allowed her to form deep connections with like-minded individuals who shared her faith.
Family meant everything to Jennie. Even though she is no longer with us physically, she leaves behind an extensive network of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of those she encountered, and her memory will forever be cherished by her extended family.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. While their absence is deeply felt, their spirits live on in the hearts of those who loved them. Jennie's reunion with her loved ones in the world beyond brings solace to those left behind.
Jennie Stevens will always be remembered as a compassionate woman with an unwavering love for her family. Her legacy of love, devotion, and faith will continue to inspire generations to come.
