Emilia Fuentes Lechuga, a cherished matriarch and beloved member of her family, passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2024, in Dolton, Illinois. Born on August 8, 1927, in Mexico, Emilia lived a full life defined by love, family, and unwavering strength.

Emilia was the proud mother of four children: Alma Rosa, Jose Ignacio, Maria de los Angeles, and Victor Manuel. She basked in the joy of her grandchildren—Jorge, Antonio, Omar, Adriel, Jeanette, Dinah, Adrian - Jose Luis, Maricruz, Haide, Estela, Isaias, Heber, and Loruhama—and that of twenty-four great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by her warmth and affection.

Emilia is survived by many nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her. Though she has passed from this world, the legacy of love and kindness that Emilia imparted to her family will continue to live on in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Maria de Jesus Gutierrez, her father, Francisco Lechuga, her husband, Jose Fuentes, her granddaughter, Maria Del Rocio and her siblings, Carlota, Gila, Jesus, Francisco, and Lionso. Their memory remains engrained in the hearts of those who loved Emilia, enriching the tapestry of her life story.

Beyond her family, Emilia possessed an unwavering passion for flowers that illuminated every space she occupied, bringing beauty and life into the lives of those around her. Her interest in these delicate blooms mirrored her nurturing nature—a reflection of the beauty she saw in the world and the joy she shared with her loved ones.

Emilia Fuentes Lechuga, una querida matriarca y querido miembro de su familia, falleció pacíficamente en su casa el 5 de Diciembre 2024, en Dolton, Illinois. Nacida el 8 de Agosto 1927 en México, Emilia vivió una vida plena definida por el amor, la familia y la fuerza inquebrantable.

Emilia era la orgullosa madre de cuatro hijos: Alma Rosa, Jose Ignacio, María de los Angeles y Víctor Manuel. Disfrutó de la alegría de sus nietos—Jorge, Antonio, Omar, Adriel, Jeanette, Dina, Adrián—Jose Luis, Maricruz, Haide, Estela, Isaías, Heber y Loruhama—y la de veinticuatro bisnietos, todos de los cuales quedaron conmovidos por su calidez y afecto.
