Edward Petlak

Edward R. Petlak, age 92, late of Calumet City, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016.  Beloved husband of Rita Petlak (nee Ginalski); loving father of Candace (Dr. John) Hohner and Elliott (Shoshan Reddington) Petlak; proud grandfather of Dr. Elita (Eric Taylor) Hohner, Cassie Hohner, Sloane Petlak and Layne Petlak; dear uncle of Ann (Armand) Capanna, Lynn M. (Thomas M.) Backofen and Jacob (Mary Beth) Ginalski.  He is preceded in death by parents Raymond and Bernice Petlak and by brother Carl.  Edward served proudly and honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII.  He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Polish Legion.  He was on the Board of Directors of the First Savings Bank of Hegewisch, where he served in various executive positions and managed the Insurance Department at the time of his retirement.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lions Club International, 300 W. 22nd St., Oak Brook, IL 60523.
