Dennis V. Mull, late of Hegewisch, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on February 14, 1951, Dennis lived a life full of love, service and unwavering dedication to his family and country.
He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Mull (nee Doherty), who stood by his side through thick and thin. Together, they built a life filled with laughter and warmth, nurturing a family that would carry his legacy forward. Dennis was a proud father to his children, Dennis (Elizabeth Miles) Mull, Ashley (Andrew Adams) Mull and Amanda (Daniel) Indicavitch. He found immense joy in being a grandfather to Nicholas Angotti, Tyler Adams, Brooklyn Adams, Dennis Mull, Blake Mull, Jackson Miles, Daniel Indicavitch Jr., Hailey Indicavitch and Hunter Indicavitch whose bright spirits often brought smiles to his face and warmth to his heart. Dennis was a devoted brother, leaving behind his brother Gene (Faye) Mull. The family ties he nurtured extended into the lives of many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart. In times of need, Dennis found unwavering compassion in his caregivers, Jennifer Hunt and cousin, who ensured he received the love and care he deserved. His parents, Ervin and Margie Mull, predeceased him. In them, Dennis found inspiration in his early years, and they will be lovingly remembered as he rejoins them in spirit.
A veteran of the US Army, Dennis served honorably during the Vietnam War. His experiences in the military shaped his character and instilled in him values that he carried throughout his life: loyalty, courage, and service to others. Upon returning home, he continued his legacy of service as a devoted member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans (DAV). These organizations provided him with a platform to connect with fellow veterans, share stories, and foster a community rooted in shared experiences.
Those who knew Dennis were touched by his kindness, humor, and generosity. He had a remarkable ability to make those around him feel valued and loved. He was a man who lived life fully, cherishing each moment with his family and friends, creating memories that will last forever.
Dennis will be remembered as a man who embraced every challenge with a smile and a steadfast heart. He will be profoundly missed but eternally cherished, residing in the hearts of those who loved him. The legacy of Dennis Mull will live on, a guiding light for his family as they carry forward his love and teachings.
