Anne Wisniewski (nee Yatsko)

December 28, 1919 — July 22, 2019

Anne Wisniewski (nee Yatsko) of Calumet City, IL passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, July 22, 2019 at the blessed age of 99. Anne was a beloved wife of the late Sigmund “Ziggy” Wisniewski, a Loving mother of Merrily Moore (late Richard) and William (Jane) Wisniewski, proud Grandmother to Justine (Roger) Ward, Jacquelyn Wacnik, Jennifer (Richard) Gonzalez, Anne (Pete) Bambic, Virginia (Steve) Ruzich and Cynthia Zairis (late Harry), and a devoted great grandmother of Michael, Matthew and Cynthia Gonzalez, Isabella Martin and Nikolaos Zairis. She was the baby of her family and was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Bailey, Michael Yatsko, Helen Brilla, Charlie Yatsko and John Yatsko. Lastly, she was a dear Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Also, preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Mary Yatsko.

Anne was a loving and caring woman who devoted her life to her family. She was an amazing cook and homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She worked as a telephone operator and for General Mills in her early years. She also volunteered as a Candy Striper at Saint Margaret’s Hospital. Later in life, after breaking her hip for the second time, Anne lost mobility. As unfortunate as this was, Anne was our family’s every day example of staying positive no matter what life throws your way! She was a class act, a true lady and our glamour girl. She was always dolled up with her red lipstick, blush and painted red nails. She would make daily calls to her children and grandchildren at 11 am and 9 pm every day. She always made sure her family knew how much she loved each and every one of us. Every day she would read her prayer book, church bulletins, NWI Catholic, say the rosary and pray for her family. Her caregiver would push her in her wheel chair to St. Victor’s Church for mass where she was a longtime parishioner. She lived by the golden rule; “If you do not have anything good to say about someone then do not say anything at all.” She was a devoted wife to Ziggy for 62 years. He adored his baby doll. We find comfort in knowing that they are reunited once again.

Anne lived a beautiful life. We were blessed to have her for so long. We loved her with all our hearts and will miss her dearly. Walk again in heaven, our sweet Angel, for you so truly deserve it.
